Bio
Since 1982, John has been active in commercial real estate. He is an Ohio Licensed Real Estate Broker and a Certified Property Manager. As a CPM and a member of the local Chapter of The Institute of Real Estate Management, John is in active communication with all levels of property management and brokerage professionals.
After graduating from the University of Cincinnati, John spent his next few years as a self-employed contractor. His entrepreneurial spirit transferred nicely into estate career.
In the early 1980’s, John entered multi-family property management with a large national apartment developer learning marketing and stabilization of properties. He quickly advanced over his 6 years to become a Regional Manager directly responsible for 6,000 units in several states. During this time, his responsibilities were expanded to include site acquisition/approval and construction supervision for new developments. This took John to the east coast to oversee the start-up of a Baltimore, MD office and conducted site evaluations all over the eastern United States.
Next, John joined a Regional commercial development firm and gained valuable experience in mixed-use, office, industrial, retail and commercial leasing. He opened several new developments, successfully stabilized them and became proficient in commercial leases, CAM and percentage rent recoveries.
In 1989, John decided to start his own company. John and his partner started solely as a property management “Boutique” firm. Quickly, his clients asked that he expand his services to include brokerage, construction management, acquisition and disposition. Through the next 20 years, John’s company has been a local leader in management and brokerage performance, managing in excess of 8 million square feet of commercial space, 2000 residential units, generated over $40 million in real estate brokerage transactions and received numerous “Top Producer” and “Top 25” awards over the years.
In January of 2011, with a significantly changed real estate and economic environment, John sought to align his company with the commercial mortgage brokerage firm of Morris, Smith & Feyh, Inc. The purpose was to further broaden the scope of services to his growing list of clients. This now allows John to offer financing alternative to his clients, along with his management services, creating an absolute win/win situation.
