Bio
Ed Easley is Regional President for Lennar Multifamily Communities (LMC). He joined LMC in 2012 as Western Regional President. Currently, Easley is President of Development for LMC, managing US Development Operations for the company’s $8 billion portfolio, and is based in Austin, Texas.
Easley started his career in 1973. From 1979 to 1990, he was a partner in the Dallas-based Windsor Properties, where he also served as President and CEO. During his tenure there, he developed and operated properties in Texas, North Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, and Nevada.
In 1996, Easley established a San Diego office for JPI and quickly expanded its California operations throughout the state. This positioned JPI as one of California’s most dynamic multifamily developers. In 2000, Easley opened a Canadian Division in Toronto, Canada for JPI and its investment partner GE Capital. Under Easley’s direction, JPI entitled and developed two signature high-rise residential communities in downtown Toronto. Easley was responsible for developing over 6,000 units worth $1 billion.
In 2001, Easley was asked to serve on JPI’s Operating Committee and expand his oversight to include JPI’s Western/International Division. As co-chairman of the Operating Committee, Easley helped provide strategic and operational oversight for JPI’s nationwide operations.
In 2003, Easley founded Crown Pacific Properties (CPP) with his former JPI California Regional Partner. CPP built a portfolio of value-added multifamily properties in California, Arizona, and Washington. CPP enjoyed a strategic investment relationship with AEW and The Carlyle Group, who provided the bulk of the capital for CPP’s portfolio.
In 2006, Easley made the strategic decision to sell CPP’s assets and the operating company to The Picerne Group who created its subsidiary, TPG Residential. Easley became the new subsidiary’s President and served on the Board until his departure in 2008.
Easley is the Chairman of the NAHB Multifamily Leadership Board and a full member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Easley graduated from the University of Texas in Austin.
