A native of Rockingham County, Jim Grove has worked and resided in Rockingham and Augusta Counties for many years. He maintains a network of friends and business associates in this area. Jim graduated with a BS from the VA Tech College of Agriculture and a MBA from the Pamplin School of Business at Va Tech. His finance career began with Farm Credit in Hagerstown, Maryland. After 3 years Jim returned to the valley as an Agriculture Loan Officer with Rockingham National Bank. He was promoted to President and CEO of Dominion Farm Loan Corporation and managed the development of an agriculture loan portfolio which ranked among the top twenty agriculture banks in the nation. After 18 years, he joined Telmark Leasing, Inc. as Regional Manager. He developed and managed an agriculture and commercial equipment and building lease portfolio including the development of a poultry house leasing program which was the model for the entire east coast division of Telmark. After Telmark was purchased by Wells Fargo Financial Leasing, Inc., Jim closed the first commercial building mortgage for the leasing company in the US. Jim joined United Bank as Senior Corporate Lending Officer specializing in commercial loans in the Waynesboro area for 8 years before retiring. This concluded his career of agriculture and commercial lending, mostly in Rockingham and Augusta Counties. Jim is a member and Past President of the North River Ruritan Club, past member of the Waynesboro Rotary Club and is a member of the Parnassus United Methodist Church. He and his wife Carole, have 4 children and 15 grandchildren. As a new farm and commercial realtor, Jim hopes to use his agriculture and commercial banking experience and customer network to facilitate the sale and purchase of farms and commercial properties in Rockingham and Augusta counties.
