Jim never lived in one place for very long as the son of a Naval Officer. His six siblings and he moved with their family to Colorado in 1977, after his father's engineering firm was chosen to rebuild the dam and power plant after the Big Thompson Canyon Flood. He returned to California in 1978 to start, own, and operate a successful seafood restaurant in San Diego, before changing careers to aviation in 1992. He became a flight instructor, until his father asked him to come back to Colorado to help with the family real estate business. Ever since obtaining his real estate license in 1994, Colorado has been his home and he has found a passion for real estate.
Growing up with real estate experience has led him to mastering the business. Over the past 25+ years, his professional approach to marketing seller's properties or finding the right properties for buyers has made him one of the top agents in the Front Range. Approximately 80% of his business comes from past customers and referrals. With his range of sales and properties, he is able to help each customer. He takes pride in treating each of his customers as if they were his only customer, and he gives them the one-on-one attention they want and deserve.
He has over 25 years of experience in residential marketing, which has largely contributed to his many residential home sales in Boulder, Longmont, Loveland, Berthoud, Mead, Erie, Louisville, Frederick, Firestone, Platteville and Fort Lupton. From mountain properties to rural properties, and small acreage to farms and ranches, he has sold many vacant lands in parts of Colorado including Weld, Larimer, Boulder and Morgan counties. Working with first-time homebuyers, short sales, foreclosures, investment properties and 1031 exchanges has been a part of his real estate career ever since he became licensed. His extensive knowledge of water rights and mineral rights continues to grow.
He is a member of various associations including the National Association of Realtor, the Colorado Association of Realtors, the Boulder and Longmont Association of Realtors, and the Longmont Chamber of Commerce. Volunteering with the MS Cycling Fundraiser and Community Sailing of Colorado are also ways in which he spends his time. A proud father of four and grandfather of 12, he enjoys the lifestyle of Colorado including flying, cycling, hiking, weightlifting and hunting.
