James A. Egan serves as executive managing director in the Global Healthcare Services group for Newmark Knight Frank's office in Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Egan has been acknowledged as a national top producer by the company in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2011 and 2012. Over the past eight years, Mr. Egan has provided extensive consulting and transactional work on behalf of Drexel University. Completed in 2012, he brokered its expansion in Center City Philadelphia of 189,000 square feet by Drexel at Three Parkway, 1601 Cherry Street.
The Philadelphia Business Journal nominated Mr. Egan as a finalist in the "Deal of the Year" awards in 2001, 2005, 2006 and 2009. In 2001 and 2009, his team was the winner of the award.
As building representative, Mr. Egan's select assignments include leasing the Penn Mutual Tower - 530 Walnut Street, The Federal Reserve Bank Building, Walnut Towers - 211 N. 9th Street, Walnut Tower East - 8th and Walnut Build-to-Suit, The Cast Iron Building, 1608 Walnut Street, 1015 Chestnut Street.
As tenant representative, his assignments included Drexel University, Virtua Health, CBS Broadcasting, Urban Engineers, Verizon, Century Link (Qwest), IBM, The Judge Group, Voxmedia, Police & Fire Federal Credit Union, Pennsylvania Lumberman's Mutual Fund, Electronic Ink, Hill International, Marlin Leasing, MS Society and Focus Pointe.
Mr. Egan assisted in the sale of 3501 Market Street, 1500 Spring Garden Street, 2301 Chestnut Street, 2400 Locust Street, and 456 North 5th Street in Philadelphia, 6800 Market Street in Upper Darby, The Triad Building in Gulph Mills, 2555 Kingston Road in York, PA, and The Econo Lodge Hotel in Edders, PA.
Responsible for acquiring the land needed to construct new Wawa convenience stores, Mr. Egan handled the site approval process by governmental authorities. He oversaw the engineering of the site, as well as all state, county and township approvals. The total value of sites developed over the three-year period was $27,000,000.
Mr. Egan is currently a board member at Mercy Vocational High School, and a member of the TriState Realtors Commercial Alliance, where he served as president from 2008 to 2010. In addition, Mr. Egan has served on the board of The Pennsylvania Association of Realtors and the Old City District.
Mr. Egan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Birmingham Southern College.
