At a young age, Jen was introduced to the real estate industry. When she was in high school Jen used to help her father and grandfather with their open houses, in properties that they had developed. When she was in her twenties Jen lived in Jersey City, NJ and realized the potential for that neighborhood. While Jen and her husband were only dating, they bought a brownstone together, a true fixer upper. Jen quickly ran out of money, so she asked my father for a loan. She still remembers exactly what he said to me, “You don’t need a loan, you need to get married.”
So, Jen’s passion for real estate blossomed. She and her husband would go on to buy five more brownstones as well as a mixed-use apartment / commercial building. They used their growing equity and 1099 exchanges to build a real estate portfolio in the then gentrifying downtown Jersey City market.
During Jen’s 13 years in Jersey City, she also rented multiple commercial spaces in which she operated numerous businesses including restaurants and a gourmet organic food store. She successfully sold every one of their businesses because the businesses were viable and most importantly Jen had negotiated solid commercial leases for each of them.
In 2008, Jen and her husband sold all their properties in Jersey City. They could see that the real estate market was turning, and it was time to cash out and move to the beach in Spring Lake, NJ.
In 2009 Jen joined Jack Green Realty, which was a new brokerage her father had established to sell a substantial amount of property he was developing at the shore. By 2013 Jen was the top producer in the company, but rather than rest on her laurels she decided to open a new office for the company. In late, 2013 Jack Green Realty’s Spring Lake office opened with Jen as the broker manager. She really felt it was important as a real estate professional that she should live in the town that she worked in, so that she was immersed in the local market and able to provide the most value to buyers and sellers by sharing my knowledge with them. Plus, Jen enjoys a challenge, and Spring Lake is a beautiful gem on the Jersey Shore and the most competitive real estate market in all of Monmouth County.
By 2020, Jen was well established in the real estate market in Spring Lake. She is proud to say that most of her agents live in the community and know it inside and out. They know when properties are coming on the market before they hit the market. Jack Green Realty has a fantastic reputation of integrity and professionalism.
