Jeffrey S. Cohen joined CBRE in 2013 as Executive Vice President upon the sale of Fameco Real Estate, L.P., the Philadelphia region’s leading retail brokerage firm specializing in retail real estate and the shopping center industry.Jeffrey has over thirty-three years of experience in retail and mixed-use real estate. He is one of the two founding Principals of Fameco Real Estate, L.P., which was created by the merger of Ripco, Pennsylvania and Banyan Associates, Inc., in 1997.
In his capacity as a Landlord representative, Jeffrey is responsible for more than 2,000,000 square feet of retail space within the Delaware Valley and has acted as agent for developers in many of the region’s largest retail projects, including the development of Market Place at Garden State Park at the former Cherry Hill Race Track, Horizon Center in Neshaminy, Pennsylvania, Camden Town Center in Dover, Delaware, Teterboro Landing in the Meadowlands section of Bergen County, New Jersey and many others.
He also exclusively represents many of the nation’s leading retailers in their site selection efforts, including Walmart, Sam’s Club, Ross Dress for Less, LA Fitness, Home Depot, Sprouts Farmers Markets and Kohl’s. He also performs disposition services for many of these retailers. Jeffrey has also worked extensively with movie theaters, now representing Cinemark Theatres, and having previously been agent for AMC Theaters, United Artists and Hoyt's Cinema Corporation. Since 2016 Jeff has expanded his focus to include site selection for senior living operators and developers, healthcare systems and industrial developers.
Among his other accomplishments within the industry, in 2013 he was selected to represent the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in the sale of their largest property, a 213-acre development site. In 2004 he sold the 130-acre Cherry Hill Racetrack. Outside his brokerage activities Jeffrey remains integral to shaping strategic planning and business development at CBRE.
