In 2008, Jason Shepherd co-founded DP Assets, LLC, a real estate investment fund focused on distressed and value add assets. DP Assets was created to capitalize on the nationwide real estate crash and foreclosure epidemic. DP Assets currently owns a portfolio of over $60mm in real estate across four states comprised of apartment communities, industrial sites, office, retail, and single-family assets. In addition to these holdings, Jason is the cofounder of Atlas Real Estate: a full-service real estate firm with more than 30 real estate agents and a property management company with over 2 million square feet of commercial and residential space. Over the past eight years, DP Assets and Atlas Real Estate have transacted on over $1 Billion for institutional and individual investment funds. Of that, more than $550mm has been directly invested into the Denver Metro real estate market on behalf of Atlas and its investment partners.
The knowledge and experience necessary to launch these ventures were acquired through several real estate positions. Prior to Atlas Real Estate and DP Assets, Shepherd was the Director of Sales for a beachfront golf resort in the Mexican Riviera. Jason earned his investment expertise through years of real estate investing in the Arizona market.
Jason currently spends his time and capital working on ventures addressing water scarcity and technological disruption in Real Estate. Jason continues to be extremely active with DP Assets and Atlas Real Estate through strategy, leadership, oversight, and opportunistic real estate acquisitions.
Jason is a graduate of Arizona State University and a former Class A PGA golf professional. Jason is an advisor to BeadforLife and Street Business School (SBS). SBS is a nonprofit focused on entrepreneurial education for women in Africa, empowering women with confidence and knowledge to lead themselves out of extreme poverty.
In addition to cofounding DP Assets and Atlas Real Estate, Jason is also the cofounder of Reactiv and Archipelago.
