Janey Steinmetz joined Newmark’s Stamford, Connecticut, office in 2017 and currently serves as a managing director. Mrs. Steinmetz has extensive experience in representing both tenants and landlords in a broad spectrum of transactions and takes pride in developing and executing thoughtful and creative real estate solutions that align with each of her client’s unique business objectives. Mrs. Steinmetz’s core business is the representation of national retailers and hedge fund and private equity firms. Mrs. Steinmetz’s roster of landlord clients includes such prestigious owners as RXR Realty, GID, Empire State Realty Trust, UC Funds, Simone Development, Wafra Inc., among others. As a tenant representative in the retail sector, Mrs. Steinmetz has represented several furniture and design retailers on their national expansion, including Design Within Reach, HAY, and Modani Furniture. Most recently, she has assisted Modani Furniture in almost doubling their fleet, growing the brand from 11 to 19 stores. She has completed deals in most major and secondary markets in the U.S. and Canada. Additionally, she has represented numerous retail tenants locally in Westchester and Fairfield Counties, including Chase Bank, Kaia Yoga, Aux Delices Foods, and more. As a tenant representative in the office sector, Mrs. Steinmetz represents many well-respected hedge funds and private equity firms, including Lone Pine Capital, L Catterton, Marblegate Asset Management, and Candlestick Capital. Janey has received Newmark’s Rising Star award in 2019 and 2020.Prior to Newmark, Mrs. Steinmetz was an associate with MSC Retail for three years in the firm’s Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office, where she represented the University of Pennsylvania on both planning and leasing its 350,000-square-foot retail portfolio.
