James Walker is Vice President of Gulf Coast Commercial Group, Inc. In this capacity, he manages assets that have exceeded 1.5 million square feet in 30 shopping centers, and he has directly overseen the development and construction of over two million square feet in 27 shopping centers in Greater Houston and out of state markets.
Walker is a principal of Four VP GP Houston, Inc. which is general partner of entities that own and operate 22 WoodSpring Suites extended stay hotels in Texas, Louisiana, and Colorado. He is a manager and investor in a portfolio of 15 MainStay Suites extended stay hotels in 10 states that were acquired in 2020. In 2017, Walker and his partners started Gulf Coast Hotel Management, Inc. which manages their combined portfolio of 22 WoodSpring Suites and 15 MainStay Suites.
Walker supervised the design and construction of Boot Hill Casino and the adjoining 108 room Hampton Inn & Suites in Dodge City, KS. He was a principal of BHC Development, L.C. and BHC Investment Company, L.C. which owned and developed the casino premises and had an operating interest in the casino. Walker helped successfully sell the casino real estate in 2020 and the operating interest in 2021. He is also a principal of BHC Lodging, L.C. which owns and operates the hotel.
Walker supervised the design and construction of the 300 room Hampton Inn & Suites at Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane. He is also a principal of KSC Lodging, L.C. which owns and operates the hotel.
Walker is a managing member of Kansas Crossing Casino, L.C. and Kansas Crossing Real Estate, L.C., the companies that own and developed the Kansas Crossing Casino in Pittsburg, Kansas. He is also a managing member of Kansas Crossing Hotel, L.C. which developed, and both owns and operates a 123 room Hampton Inn & Suites adjoining the Kansas Crossing Casino. Walker oversaw the development of the casino and hotel which opened in March 2017.
Walker is a managing member of Columbus Southeast Hotel Group, L.L.C. and oversaw the development of a 118 room Hampton Inn & Suites next to Scioto Downs Racino in Columbus, OH. Columbus Southeast Hotel Group, L.L.C. owns and operates the Hampton Inn and Suites.
He received his B.A. degrees in accounting and finance from Kansas State University in 1991. He holds a CPA license in Texas and a gaming license with the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission.
