James K. Coleman, a graduate of Manhattan College, has been actively involved in the commercial real estate business since 1982. Mr. Coleman has been active in all areas of sales, financing, ownership, renovation, leasing, property management, mortgage servicing and the conversion of rental housing in the metropolitan New York area. Additionally, Mr. Coleman has personally assisted in the due diligence, acquisition and disposition of bulk portfolios of REOs and non-performing loan packages for several investment groups.
In June 1990, Mr. Coleman became vice-president of Houlihan-Parnes, Realtors. This position involves assisting the partners of the firm in negotiating the purchase and sale of properties on their behalf. Mr. Coleman is a principal in the private mortgage lending program. He has been involved in this program for over 10 years and along with a group of investors, he has actively placed bridge loans to local operators totaling over 225 million dollars. He handles all aspects of this program from negotiations to commitments, closings and servicing of this portfolio. Along with the lending program, he oversees the mortgage servicing unit known as H-P Capital, LLC. This involves all aspects of mortgage servicing including placement, distributions, extensions, modifications, and foreclosures.
Mr. Coleman is a partner of Metro Property Group, LLC, established in 2000, a full service management company affiliated with Houlihan Parnes. Metro handles the day to day operation of multi-family, commercial and office buildings owned by investors and partners of Houlihan Parnes. This also includes the implementation of due diligence for all potential purchases of real estate. Metro has also supervised the renovation and sale of sponsor co-op units purchased in bulk sales in the boroughs and Westchester for investor groups.
Mr. Coleman is a member of the Board of Governors of the Bronx-Manhattan North Board of Realtors, and a director of the Bronx Realty Advisory Board. He is also on the Board of Directors of Mount Saint Michael Academy, his high school alma mater. Mr. Coleman is an active member of The Ireland-U.S. Council, The Westchester County Association, The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
