Bio
Jake Norton is a member of the Office Specialty Group in Transwestern's Oakland Office. The revitalization of Oakland’s creative and historic buildings is Jake’s primary focus. He has assisted in Oakland’s movement towards creative office space in Uptown Oakland, helping represent Lane Partners in the purchase of the 400,000 SF Sears Building at 1945 Broadway for conversion to Uptown Station, and the sale of 110,000 SF Latham Square at 1611 Telegraph Avenue. Jake led the Latham Square listing team as the building transitioned into Oakland’s premier creative high-rise, as well as the leasing and rebranding efforts for 1924 Franklin, 1714 Franklin, 385 17th Street (The Arbors), 1440 Broadway and 2131 Broadway, among others, as the buildings were converted to creative offices. He has also assisted multiple tech and non-profit companies make the transition into Oakland’s creative space. Jake has helped lead the charge of capital into more historically challenging office submarkets, such as the Oakland Airport, Fruitvale and West Oakland submarkets. His marketing efforts at 333 and 303 Hegenberger (The Landing) emphasized new ownership and capital improvements resulted in a 25% increase in rent after just two quarters. Jake has led similar successful building repositioning campaigns in South Oakland including Eastmont Town Center, 2648 International, 3022 International, 433 Hegenberger and Artthause Studios. Jake began his real estate career as a research intern in CBRE’s Sacramento Office during college. After another internship with Prologis in transaction management, Jake became a member of the CBRE 2012 Wheel Program for the San Francisco Bay Area. After completing the Wheel Program, Jake became a member of the CBRE Private Capital Group in 2012, working closely with Kathy Kelleher in the San Francisco East Bay Private Capital Office and Industrial Sales Team serving clients throughout the San Francisco East Bay with sale dispositions and acquisitions. Jake transitioned into CBRE’s Office Specialty Group in 2013 specializing in creative brick & timber office leasing. Jake parlayed his investment sales experience into a successful leasing career focused on creative product in the East Bay. Jake has worked and lived in Oakland since graduating college and has intimate knowledge of Oakland’s diverse office product and multiple submarkets which allow him to navigate clients through Oakland’s intricate office market with greater confidence to achieve the best value possible. Utilizing his financial background and diverse experience, along with a strong belief in transparency and honesty, Jake strives to offer creative effective solutions to best serve his clients.
