Huw joined Cooke & Arkwright in May 2000 and is based at the Cardiff office, leading the retail team dealing with agency and landlord & tenant work. Although the majority of the work is carried out in South Wales and the Borders, approximately 20% of his work takes place on various high streets throughout England.
His work varies from acting on behalf of national clients such as Axa Real Estate Investment Managers, F & C Reit Asset Management, Hermes Real Estate Management and LaSalle Investment Management, to acquiring leasehold premises, negotiating and settling rent reviews and lease renewals, and acting as an Expert Witness on behalf of clients such as Greggs, Principality Building Society, Specsavers, Superdrug, Holland & Barrett, Northern Rock, Signet Plc, Dollond & Aitchison, Ladbrokes, Martin McColls, British Heart Foundation, Kelly Services, Austin Reed, Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Burger King and various Welsh Local Authorities, as well as large property companies, private trusts and local and regional retailers.
Huw was educated the University of Glamorgan and prior to joining Cooke & Arkwright, he worked in London for four years and spent a year travelling in Australia, New Zealand and various countries in Asia. He is a member of RICS and is a fluent Welsh speaker.
