Hugh Scott has over 30 years of broad based real estate experience spanning brokerage, investment management, asset management, acquisitions, dispositions, financing, lending, loan workouts, development and market research. Mr. Scott’s primary focus is investment sales as well as retail and medical tenant and landlord representation.
Previously, Mr. Scott was the Managing Director and Group Head of Real Estate for Commonfund based in Wilton, CT. During his 15 years at Commonfund, Mr. Scott oversaw the real estate investment group that included direct investment funds that invested in over $2 billion of office, industrial, multi-family, retail, agricultural and hotel assets in major markets across the United States. The assets ranged from core performing assets to value added and development properties in both single use and multi-use form.
Prior to joining Commonfund, Mr. Scott was an Investment Manager with Travelers Realty Investment Corporation where he was part of a centralized team that conducted loan workouts in the New York to Boston corridor with the firm’s largest and most litigious borrowers. Prior to joining Travelers, Mr. Scott was a Senior Analyst at Homart Development, the real estate investment arm of Sears. At Homart, Mr. Scott conducted site-specific research for suburban regional mall and high-rise office developments throughout the nation.
Mr. Scott has his Masters of Management from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan. Mr. Scott previously held the Series 7, 63 and 24 securities licenses.
