As Senior Managing Director for Aztec Group, Inc., Howard Taft has over 30 years of real estate financing and sales experience. Taft is responsible for managing the origination, analysis and placement of real estate debt and equity throughout the United States.
Prior to joining Aztec, Taft was Managing Director at Cohen Financial, Senior Managing Director at Holliday Fenoglio Fowler (HFF), where he opened and managed the office and Senior Vice President at Continental Real Estate Companies (CREC), which is a Miami based, privately owned real estate firm providing leasing, management, brokerage, development and financial services with more than one billion dollars in its portfolio.
Taft has successfully closed transactions totaling over $3 billion involving mezzanine/equity financing with senior debt for acquisition, development and refinancing for all product types: multi-family, retail, office, ground up retail, note purchases, office condominiums, condominium conversions of residential and office, land and mixed use properties.
Taft has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Real Estate & Accounting from the University of Florida. He is affiliated with various organizations such as National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Advisory Board of University of Florida Warrington College of Business, former President and Member of the Florida Association of Mortgage Brokers and Mortgage Bankers. Licensed Real Estate Broker and Licensed Mortgage Broker in the State of Florida.
