For the past 35 years, Howard has been coordinating the leasing activity for commercial real estate projects throughout the State of Florida. In the past five years, Howard's project have expanded across the east coast and midwest of the country. His primary experience has been in the leasing and redevelopment of grocery anchored retail centers, power centers and mixed use projects for institutional and private owners. Prior to creating Commercial Real Estate South Florida, Howard leased portfolio’s for Equity One, Woolbright Development, Morguard / Sizeler Real Estate, Hill Partners and was a top broker at CBRE.
Over the past five years, Howard has leased the ground floor retail of two significant mixed-use projects in downtown Hollywood, FL and oversees leasing for a family portfolio of properties across the eastern and midwest US. Howard also has a stable of strong retail, office and industrial tenants that he represents in their search for new locations.
Additionally, Howard has an extensive background in the retail industry, having been an executive on both the buying and store management side for Federated Department Stores / Macy’s and the owner of a successful athletic footwear / running store in Coral Springs. This combined knowledge of both sides of the tenant / landlord criteria, give Howard a unique ability to qualify tenants, to merchandise retail properties and to ascertain the strength of a properties tenant mix.
Howard has experience in leasing to national anchor tenants, regional growing chains and local start-up companies. He has extensive background in major redevelopment projects, re-tenanting vacant anchor spaces and outparcel leasing. During his 35 years of real estate activity, Howard has represented national tenants as well as being a court appointed Bankruptcy Receiver for institutional owners.
Howard is a licensed Florida Real Estate Broker, and has achieved the (CLS) Certified Leasing Specialist and (CSM) Certified Shopping Center Manager designation from ICSC.
Howard is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Business and has served on the board of Directors for the United Way of Dade County. Howard has been a volunteer at the Humane Society of Broward County and currently volunteers at the Sawgrass Nature Center & Wildlife Hospital in Coral Springs. Howard and his family have been residents of Coral Springs / Parkland since 1991.
