Mr. Kaplowitz joined the firm in 2005. With more than 35 years of experience, he has extensive background working with national and global corporate clients in managing their corporate real estate portfolios.
Mr. Kaplowitz has held senior executive positions in corporate real estate. He was Director of Corporate Real Estate for Barclays Bank PLC in North America. During his tenure at Barclays, Mr. Kaplowitz led the team that successfully disposed of the 700,000 sq.ft. Barclays headquarters building on Wall Street. Previously, he was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for HSBC/Marine Midland Bank’s Corporate Real Estate Division, which consisted of 400 branches and several regional headquarters.
BUSINESS AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Mr. Kaplowitz began his career as a Junior Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. He then moved on to become Director of Financial Consulting for Cole Surveys, a subsidiary of the Wyatt Company. While there he developed a client base of 300 financial institutions, specializing in expense control as a strategy for improving financial performance.
Mr. Kaplowitz is a graduate of the New York University Real Estate Institute, where he subsequently served as an Adjunct Instructor.
