Bio
As a land manager, my primary focus is to make sure that the company maintains enough land to continue to grow in the market. The land manager must have a wide range of abilities for acquiring unique properties and to resolve the many challenges that face a home builder. Prior to David Weekley Homes, there are 25 years of project management experiences, including a wide range of projects from 1 to 7,500 acres, residential to mixed use, from raw land through entitlement, development and construction. Responsibilities include acquisition of REO and stressed properties, contract negotiations for consultants, contractors, acquisition and sales. Abilities include land acquisitions/sales and development, managing staff, multi-disciplinary consultants and general contractors, projecting and maintaining budgets, scheduling timelines, working in politically challenging environments, working with governmental entities, public presentations, contract writing and negotiations, profit and loss projections, and market studies and analysis. Specifically I have been an asset manager for a master developer, a project manager for production home builders, master planned community developer, owner representative, governmental liaison, city planning commissioner and land planner. Specialties: owner representative, government liason, land planning design and entitlements, sales and acquisition, development, contract negotiations Responsible for finding raw land, engineered and/or developed lots in market-targeted areas for various types of residential units. Understanding the real estate market overall and details in niches throughout the area. Negotiate contracts with sellers for securing land assets at or below market price. Manage and complete due diligence procedures including accurate estimates for timing of entitlement and proposed development. Bid, negotiate and contract the land development costs and timelines. Provide current and future land needs for the construction and sale of homes. Manage and maintain relationships with developers in current Master Planned Communities, municipalities, home building and development groups. And generally enjoy what we do.
