George was recently elected Chairman of the Board of Globe Corporation. He remains President, co-CEO, and Director. He also serves as Chairman and President of Globe Financial Corporation and Globe Management Company. George also serves as Chairman, Director and Secretary of Globe Foundation and Chairman and President of the National Historical Fire Foundation, as well as Vice Chairman, Asst. Secretary, and Treasurer of The Merit Club.
He is involved with many community organizations, such as: Executive Committee Member of The Arizona Diamondbacks, he was formally on the Board of Directors and Past Chairman for Xavier College Preparatory, Past Chairman and Director of Harris Bank, NA, Past Chairman and formerly on the board of Junior Golf Association of Arizona, Past Chairman and currently on the Board of Phoenix Children’s Hospital, and currently on the Board of USC Marshall School of Business and The Paradise Valley Mountain Preserve Trust. He also serves as Honorary Trustee of Avon Old Farms School and Honorary Commander 309 Squadron, Luke Air Force Base.
George has always been active in the community, including his memberships in the Scottsdale Charros Young Presidents’ Organization and World Presidents’ Organization, Chief Executive Officer’s Organization, and the Arizona Alliance for Golf.
Born in Chicago, George currently resides in Paradise Valley Arizona. He earned his B.B.A. degree from the University of Southern California.
George has served as an officer of Globe Corporation since 1985, as a Director since 1993 and as its President since 1999. In addition, he is President of Globe Management Company.
Mr. Getz's other activities include serving on the Executive Committee of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Board of Directors of Harris Trust Bank, N.A. and Opus West Corporation. He is also a Trustee of the National Historical Fire Foundation, Globe Foundation and a Trustee Emeritus of Avon Old Farms School in Connecticut.
George has always been active in the community including his memberships in the Scottsdale Charros, and the Young Presidents' Organization, and All Saints Episcopal Day School
