George joined Transwestern in 2000 and assumed management responsibilities in 2006 returning to full brokerage in 2011. For a period of five years from 2006 through 2010 he managed Transwestern’s Baltimore-Washington Corridor office. During his tenure, he has established a niche in finding land development opportunities for clients in hotels, multifamily, and restaurants. Over the years, George’s clients and peers have learned the level of detail involved in development and the value add of a broker with development experience. George has over 20 years of corporate commercial real estate experience. Prior to joining Transwestern, George was Vice President of Development with Marriott International’s Senior Living Services, where he negotiated management and purchase contracts and all RFP’s for retirement communities in the eastern United States. As the Senior Director of Development at Marriott, George directed site acquisitions, negotiations and land use approvals for three assisted living concepts in the Mid-West, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast markets. George also worked as a developer in Marriott’s hotel division, developing limited service hotels as well as their restaurant division developing Roy Rogers and Bob’s Big Boys restaurants. George was also a Regional Director of Real Estate for CVS Pharmacy, where he directed new store development, surplus property disposition and landlord/tenant negotiations in a five-state territory with over 350 existing properties. PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS/RECOGNITION George is a licensed real estate agent in Delaware and the District of Columbia, and an associate broker in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia. George is an active participant in the following organizations: National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) EDUCATION George earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
