Gary is a licensed broker in Vermont and New Hampshire with over 30 years of hospitality business brokerage experience. He has been involved in selling scores of hospitality properties ranging in size from small B&Bs, restaurants, campgrounds, and large full-service country inns.
In 1992, Gary started his real estate career with Atlantic Lodging and Restaurant Brokers in Burlington, Vermont. Since 1997, he has been in the real estate business as a partner with The Hearthside Group, a company he founded with his business partner, Wendy Beach.
His background and experience include owning a bed and breakfast inn in Vermont for 12 years and years of experience in the management of clubs, hotels, and restaurants. In addition, he has been involved with large national corporate chains in Washington D.C. and Los Angeles and exclusive private clubs and restaurants in Connecticut.
Gary holds a degree in Hotel Administration from Cornell University and is a member of the New Hampshire Commercial Investment Board of Realtors. He is also a member of the Cornell Society of Hotelmen, ALP (Association of Lodging Professionals), and VLA (Vermont Lodging Association). In addition, he has attended and spoken at numerous seminars sponsored by the National Restaurant Association, Vermont Lodging & Restaurant Association, and the Professional Association of Innkeepers International.
Gary has two sons: Christopher, a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. State Department, and Tyler, the Director of Golf at the Greensboro Country Club in North Carolina. He moved to Vermont in 1989 and resided in the Burlington area until 2014, when he moved back to where he grew up in Alton, New Hampshire. He lives a mile from Lake Winnipesaukee with his wife Gayle and their two black labs: Charli and Winni. They all enjoy the outdoors and spend their free time hiking & camping around the region.
