Estel joined Block and Company in February 2002, as Senior Vice President in the office leasing and sales division.
Estel joins Block and Company with over 27 years as a real estate broker in the Kansas City area. From 1998, until joining Block & Company, Estel was associated with MC Real Estate Services. The prior 14 years, he was associated with the firm of Copaken, White & Blitt, a developer of retail malls and office buildings. During that time, as Director of Office Leasing, he was responsible for the development, property management and leasing of an office building portfolio that grew from 210,000 square feet to over 2,300,000 square feet. He remains a partner in three office buildings, which total over 450,000 square feet. From 1974 through 1984, Estel was associated with Jones & Company, developers of Corporate Woods Office Park, where he served as Vice President of Sales and Leasing and as a partner in both Jones & Company and the Corporate Woods development.
During the course of his career, Estel has leased over 3,000,000 square feet of office space in transactions valued at over $650,000,000.
During Estel’s career, he has been actively involved as an officer or board member in many civic organizations, some of which include the Overland Park, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri Chambers of Commerce, the Metropolitan Kansas City Real Estate Board, and the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks, the International Council of Shopping Centers, and the Kansas City Area Economic Development Council. In 1999, with sales volumes in excess of $33,800,000, the Metropolitan Kansas City Real Estate Board honored him as a “Top Three Office Producer”. In 2000, the Kansas City CCIM Chapter awarded Estel a “Home Run Award” for creative real estate transactions.
Estel and his wife of 38 years, Patricia, have two grown children and are the proud grandparents of four grandchildren.
