Bio
Meet Ernie, a seasoned commercial real estate broker with an impressive career spanning over two decades. Since embarking on his journey in 1996, Ernie has displayed an unwavering dedication to the real estate industry, which has evolved and grown into a true passion over the years.
Originally recognized for his artisanal craftsmanship in handcrafting heart pine furniture for clients in North Carolina's Highlands and Cashiers areas, Ernie seamlessly translated his creative talents into the realm of real estate. His initial endeavors involved the renovation of historic houses and commercial buildings, eventually expanding his prowess to oversee an impressive portfolio of over 500,000 square feet of real estate. This responsibility includes properties under his own account, as well as partnerships and third-party owners.
Throughout his career, Ernie's trajectory has been characterized by adaptability and growth, propelling him to become a dynamic force in commercial real estate sales and leasing. This transformation not only highlighted his versatility but also showcased his unparalleled expertise in navigating the complexities of the commercial real estate landscape.
Ernie's exceptional reputation in the Columbus and Phenix City regions is underscored by numerous accolades, including awards from Coldwell Banker Commercial, along with consistent top 2% production rankings on a national scale since 2014. His proficiency is further solidified by his possession of the esteemed Certified Commercial Investment Manager (CCIM) designation and active membership in the International Council of Shopping Centers.
His expertise spans a diverse array of transactions, encompassing everything from landlord and tenant representation, sales and leasing, to ground-up development, adaptive reuse, site selection and assemblage, industrial properties, and office assets. Ernie's specialization extends to recreational and timber tracts, ranging from expansive acreages to estate lot developments. He is also adept at guiding clients through the intricate landscape of Conservation Easements.
Ernie's commitment to continuous growth is evident through his educational journey. Graduating from The University of Georgia in 1996, he obtained his Real Estate License in 2001, followed by the prestigious CCIM designation in 2002 and an Associates Brokers license in 2007. Currently, Ernie is further enriching his industry knowledge and practical skills by pursuing a Master's in Real Estate Development at Auburn University.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ernie's commitment to community engagement is a cornerstone of his ethos. He actively participates in organizations like the Rotary Club of Columbus and holds leadership positions on the boards of The Hospital Authority of Columbus, the Downtown Development Authority of Columbus, Uptown Columbus, Colony Bank Advisory board, and Business Improvement District board, reflecting his comprehensive approach to leadership.
One of Ernie's passions is international travel with his family of seven. The architectural and urban design influences from diverse cities and cultures around the world have significantly contributed to his creative and out-of-the-box perspective on real estate form and function.
In the ever-evolving landscape of commercial real estate, Ernie stands as a beacon of excellence, expertise, and community impact. His commitment to guiding clients through this dynamic world is a testament to his unwavering dedication to delivering unparalleled service.
