Bio
Ed McAfee is an entrepreneur who has developed, owned, operated and sold many small businesses in his career history. He has also developed, owned operated and sold many small businesses and real estate, including the Auto Spa full service car wash he built in 2003 and sold to a Florida company that owns numerous car wash facilities. Ed previously owned a site work estimating and surveying business which led him into a role as developer of Natures Bend subdivision in Greenville, North Carolina. Ed also has experience in forestry and wildlife management (his college major) and he built many nature centers throughout his home state of Georgia.
Over the past decade, Ed turned his focus to commercial real estate brokerage and development of Locus Real Estate Advisors, McAfee’s first project with a fellow broker & commercial real estate attorney, Zac Moretz. Locus Real Estate Advisors grew during the worst economic climate in years, climbing from just 2 to 30 brokers to become the largest commercial real estate firm in Cabarrus and Rowan Counties (N. Charlotte).
Locus has been nominated for several awards with Inman News in the categories of new innovations and technologies in real estate for its out of the box approach to closing real estate transactions. McAfee was recently seen on CNBC’s Squawk Box, discussing current trends in Charlotte Real Estate.
McAfee, when not revolutionizing the way real estate is done, lives in downtown Kannapolis, NC, home to the NC Bio-tech Research Campus with his wonderful wife and three sons. He is active with his local church and Scoutmaster of Troop 221 and sits on the board of directors of the CRCBR (Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors) and is Past-President of the Cabarrus Business Network.
