Working in Commercial Real Estate Since 1989
I began my career in 1975 with a background in a number of fields relative to the real estate industry My qualification and experience began in Construction Management and cost estimating for residential, multifamily, and City/County construction projects. I was an assistant to a prominent real estate attorney for approximately three years in addition to operating several multi-family apartment complexes of my own.
I held the position of Director of Commercial Leasing for four years, which involved being responsible for approximately 250,000 square feet of retail space. My duties were leasing, cost estimating for tenant improvements, and property management.
I obtained my Associates Real Estate License in 1990, and received my Brokers License in 1993 in the State of Oklahoma. In 1998 I received my Brokers License in the States of Arkansas, and Kansas. I have owned and operated Matlock & Company Realty since 1993 specializing in all types of Commercial Property sales, leasing, and property management services and transactions These transactions have included the sale of large Multi-Family Apartment complexes throughout the United States with sales totaling in excess of $370 million.
In October, 2005 until March, 2008, I became the Director of Commercial Property Division, for Re/Max Select, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. My responsibilities included all commercial sales transactions for the company during this time.
As of March 2008, I am very excited about the opportunity of becoming the Managing Broker of NationWide Realty Commercial - Connections which is a full service ýcommercial onlyý agency. NationWide is owned by a small group of private investors which will allow myself the opportunity of becoming an owner/operator. Our agency will seek to add to our team of professionals, seasoned commercial associates that will complement our company.
