Don has worked with Simpson full time since 1982 and oversees all of the Company’s Real Estate Development and new Construction projects located throughout the Washington Metropolitan area. He is a 4th generation Alexandrian who graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction and Engineering. Don started his career in the Construction industry working with Eugene Simpson & Brothers General Contractors working in various capacities including field supervision, scheduling and project management. He then moved over to the Development and Property Management firm to focus on Commercial Development and Asset Management for the Simpson portfolio. Don is directly responsible for providing overall team leadership, coordination and supervision on all new Development, Construction Management and interior renovation projects. The firm currently manages over 1.5 million SF of Commercial Office space and develops approximately 100,000 SF of new mixed use space annually. Don is also very active in the local Community and is currently serving on a number of non-profit organization board’s including Inova Alexandria Hospital, Alexandria Youth Sports, Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance and Eisenhower Partnership. Mr. Simpson resides in Alexandria with his wife Stacey and their two sons, Cole and Max.
