Don started Excel Auction after having worked with a small local auction company for 10 years. He saw so many missed opportunities within the auction industry and now intends to capitalize on them.
He started at the bottom as a sales associate and worked himself up to Sales Director, ultimately not only becoming a licensed Real Estate Broker in the state of Maryland but also a licensed Auctioneer throughout the ensuing years.
Dons primary focus is on creating an effective and efficient management structure thereby allowing those that are superior at calling bids, marketing, analysis and sales to Excel at what they love to do.
Prior to becoming involved in the auction industry, Don was an award winning Professional Thoroughbred Jockey. First by becoming the Nation`s leading apprentice jockey in 1981 and subsequently winning the world renowned 1983 Preakness Stakes. He subsequently went to become the leading Jockey in Maryland for nearly 7 years winning almost 2900 races in over 19,000 starts.
He has been able use his vast experience dealing with a high profile clientele, intense competitive pressure and dedication to being the best ,that comes with being a #1 Jockey, to a highly successful career in real estate auctions.
Having made his first real estate purchase in 1981 at the young age of 19, he has since accumulated a portfolio of properties over the past 2 decades. He has "hands-on" experience in all aspects of real estate, whether it be negotiation, analysis, contract and management.
These combined experiences in addition to Don`s other accomplishments have helped drive his desire to make Excel Auction... Exceed Excellence.
