Don Maddux joined Block Real Estate Services, LLC (BRES) in 2009 as Senior Vice President after a merger with his company, Prudential CRES Commercial Real Estate. Don represents investment, office, industrial, retail and multi-family properties. He has had extensive experience in multi-family, retail, land and office sales, as well as office and retail leasing during his commercial real estate career.
Don began his career in 1967 as a general real estate broker and owned ERA RealMart for 12 years. In 1979 he specialized in office leasing and was Vice President for Cohen and Company, a leading Kansas City commercial real estate firm. In 1988, Don was one of the three principals that helped found Prudential CRES and operated that business for 20 years before merging with Block Real Estate Service, LLC.
Don has served as a court appointed Receiver multiple times and as a consultant for banks in problem credit analysis.
Don was the Director and Division Chairman for the Kansas City Board of REALTORS, Director and District Vice President for the Missouri Association for REALTORS and Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS, where he also received the Life Member recognition. Don was recently elected chairman of the Board of Directors of the Coalition for Independence for 2013, after having served as treasurer and vice chairman.
Don is very active in his community as a Junior Achievement Speaker, Youth Motivational Speaker, and former Director for Big Brothers and Sister, sits on the Shawnee, Kansas Economic Development Council, Old Mission Methodist Church, and sings in the Johnson County Chorus.
