Detra Reid is an office Tenant-rep Broker who helps businesses identify and align their strategic, financial, and operational objectives with their real estate requirements. As a trusted advisor, Detra uses her years of experience in commercial banking to her advantage. Not only does she help her clients identify great spaces she also keeps her eye on the bottom-line using market knowledge, relationship-building skills, and the best negotiating tactics to ensure the final deal is within the agreed budget.
Detra joined CBRE after spending several years as a Commercial Real Estate Advisor at T. Dallas Smith & Company. She was initially exposed to commercial real estate as an employee of BB&T where she was part of an intensive leadership development program. Upon completion of the program, she served as a Special Assets Manager specializing in high-risk/problematic commercial loans. Detra also spent time working as a Credit Risk Consultant at KPMG, LLP where she analyzed commercial loan portfolios of large banks such as Credit Suisse, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, ICBC, and Deutche Bank; to name a few. Detra is a two-time graduate of Georgia State University where she earned both her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance (minor in Real Estate) and her Master of Business Administration. She has also obtained the prestigious Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation.
Detra is passionate about giving back and serving her community. Detra serves as a Local Advisory Board Member for Atlanta Technical College, a Co-chair of Membership for CREW Atlanta, a Corresponding Secretary for Browns Mill Women’s Golf Association Executive Board, and Chair of CBRE’s African American Network Group (AANG). She is also an alumna of CREW Atlanta’s 2020- 2021 Leadership class.
