Bio
Debbie Fisher is the owner and Broker-In-Charge of Handsome Properties, Inc. After graduating with a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Georgia, Debbie began her sales career as a representative with Baxter Healthcare, servicing the regions of Eastern North Carolina, Los Angeles, and Atlanta. Discovering her passion for real estate, historic properties, and antiques, she obtained her real estate license in 1990 while living in Atlanta, Georgia, where she worked for Jenny Pruitt & Associates, the Christie's affiliate in the exclusive area of Buckhead. After moving to Charleston, she worked for the Sotheby's and Christie's affiliates, selling luxury real estate throughout the Charleston area. Her experience with these prestigious auction houses taught Debbie to serve clients' interests and needs as a knowledgeable real estate specialist. Debbie specializes in historic properties, downtown residences and condominiums, and waterfront estates. She knows the Charleston area well and loves to represent buyers and sellers throughout the entire Lowcountry. Over the years, she and her husband have renovated properties in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Birmingham, and Charleston. These projects have given Debbie a better understanding and appreciation of preservation, history, and artisanship. Debbie has won achievement status as a Realtor of Distinction in the Executive Circle and the Presidents Circle for several years running. She is a member of the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors, the South Carolina Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. Debbie has a passion for community involvement. While in Atlanta, she was involved with fundraising efforts for Brandeis University and Twigs with Egleston Hospital. Other involvement includes membership in the Junior League and lifetime-membership status in Hadassah. A resident of Charleston since 2000, she holds positions on the French Quarter Neighborhood Association Board, the Jewish Museum Board of Kahol Kadosh Beth Elohim, and the Charleston Concert Association Board. She is also an active patron of the Historic Charleston Foundation and an active member of the Preservation Society of Charleston and the Charleston Chamber of Commerce. Debbie resides in historic downtown Charleston with her husband and two children. She enjoys traveling, antique auctions, history, architecture, and beach cycling at Kiawah. My Favorite Thing about Charleston: "I love Drayton Hall: the architecture, the original condition of the property, the exotic landscape, and the setting on the river. It is truly the Charleston that I love and treasure."
