David's family has three generations of realtors that are committed to excellence when helping their clients with their real estate needs. His father was a real estate professional that taught him the importance of Honesty, Integrity and keeping your word, which are the core values important to him every day and he strives to teach his family the same virtues.
David's wife Kim, and he are both locals to the area and were married in 1982 right out of High School. They have been working in the real estate business together since 2000. They are very blessed to work with their daughter, Kesha Wilkey-Prim, and their son Brian Wilkey. Their team is comprised of a great group of real estate professionals that are committed to the same high level of excellence when serving their client’s needs.
David's personal experience in real estate started in the early 80’s when he obtained a Class A Contractors license from the State of Virginia that he still keeps current today. He was building small custom homes in the Great Bridge area of Chesapeake, at which time the interest rates to buy a new home was 16%. His understanding of residential construction helps him identify potential problems a home may have, better understand how to negotiate repairs requested in a contract, and even help answer questions about home improvement ideas.
In 1989 he decided to take the leap and get his Virginia real estate license. Since that time, he has received his Broker license in both Virginia and North Carolina and has been involved in thousands of transactions over the years in all market conditions. Market knowledge and transaction experience allow him to provide our clients an advantage in the marketplace.
