Bio
David McRae is Executive Managing Director of Savills Nashville office, where he leads a team of tenant-focused brokers specializing in office and industrial tenant representation, leasing, consulting, strategic planning, portfolio optimization, and buyer representation. During the course of two decades in commercial real estate, David has developed a consultative approach to working with clients of all sizes, with the goal of fully understanding a client’s business before making any recommendations. He has worked with clients from a broad range of industries, including legal, healthcare, industrial and professional and financial services.
David has been responsible for negotiating leases and marketing of over 12 million square feet of commercial space, with lease values over $1 billion. He and his team have saved clients millions of dollars and earned the loyalty of some of Nashville’s most prominent companies, including CapStar Bank, Corizon Health, Gresham Smith & Partners, 2020 Research, NASBA, Specialty Care, EcoEnergy, Comcast, WEX, TVA, SSOE, Delek and VACO, among others. Many of the area’s leading law firms have chosen to work with David based on his policy of avoiding conflicts of interest, including Neal & Harwell, Adams & Reese, Gullett Sanford Robinson & Martin, Gideon Cooper Essary, Cornelius & Collins, Parker Lawrence Cantrell & Smith, Ford & Harrison, and Branstetter Stranch & Jennings, among others.
He joined Savills in 2019 after nearly six years as founding and managing principal of Cresa’s Nashville office, and eight years as managing principal at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank. Before that, he was Director of leasing at Crescent Resources for seven years.
David has been named a CoStar Power Broker and a Heavy Hitter by Nashville Business Journal. He earned NAIOP’s Deal of the Year and is consistently ranked among the top tenant representatives by both NBJ and CoStar. He was a founding director of the Greater Cool Springs Chamber of Commerce and has served as vice president and chairman of its economic and community development committee.
