With over 25 years of experience as a real estate investment specialist, David’s primary focus is the representation of both private clients and institutions of their multifamily investment in real property in Southern California. In 1991, David joined Grubb & Ellis in the West Los Angeles office and later joined Marcus & Millichap, working out of both the Downtown Los Angeles and West Los Angeles offices, to focus on the West Los Angeles submarket and eventually expanding his territory to include all of Southern California. He achieved Senior Investment Associate status there in 2000 and was a Senior Vice President of Investments and Director of the National Multi Housing Group. David has closed in excess of $500,000,000 in sales during his career. David went on to found his own commercial brokerage firm, Kaufman Commercial, in 2011 and went on to team up with Corey Spound in 2016 and founded Tamarack Real Estate Services.
Tamarack Real Estate Services is a boutique full service real estate company that focuses on Investment Brokerage, Commercial Leasing & Asset Management. David’s institutional clients have included prominent companies and individuals such as: Boston Capital, Topa Equities, Levine Property Management, Prime Group, Max Webb, Jeff Greene, the Kor Group, the Roberts Company, and City National Bank. He also represents a multitude of private clients and non profits that include doctors, lawyers, syndicators, developers, lenders, affordable housing professionals, and other private investors.
David obtained his Bachelor of Arts from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1991 with a major in History and minor in Economics. David went on later to receive his Masters in Business Administration from University of California Los Angeles’s Anderson School of Management in 1996. David is extremely active in the community and has won several awards for his leadership and philanthropy including the Edgar Magnin award and the Jules Ratner Leadership award. He is a past board member of the Los Angeles Jewish Federation and graduate and founder of the Young Leadership Development Institute. He is also a member of the National Young Leadership Cabinet and an active member of Hillcrest Country Club’s Community Activity Committee. He’s been married to his wife, Debbie, for 19 years with whom he shares three daughters, Lauren, Emily and Ashley.
