David joined Studley in 1986 after spending six years as an attorney with Katten, Muchin & Zavis, the National Futures Association, and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. David has managed leasing transactions on behalf of legal firms, financial services organizations, healthcare concerns, technology companies, and associations. David has negotiated leases or consulted on projects representing more than 7 million square feet of space on behalf of commercial space users. David joined Colliers Bennett & Kahnweiler in June 2008. David is a former member of the board of directors of the Chicago Office Leasing Brokers Association (COLBA), where he was a 1996 finalist for COLBA Tenant Representative of the Year. He is a member of the American Bar Association and Chicago Bar Association where he serves on the Real Estate Property Committee. In addition, he co-authored the Illinois Continuing Education Commercial Supplement for commercial real estate brokers. Further, David has served on the Corporate Committee of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He has addressed numerous forums on law firm leasing issues including the American Bar Association’s annual meeting in Toronto, Canada and co-chaired the Negotiating Leases program with CLE International. He is a member of the Association of Internet Professionals, Internet Executives Club, the Chicago Software Association, and he co-authored their Benchmark Study of Real Estate. David is also a member of the Turnaround Management Association. David’s successful negotiations earned him designation as a finalist for the Chicago Sun-Times Broker of the Year in both 1990 and 1992. He is a member of the National Law Firm Advisory Group. Top clients are: American National Bank and Trust, Smith Barney, Midas International Corporation David holds an A.B. in political science from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri where he graduated summa cum laude. He also earned a Juris Doctorate from DePaul University and participated in the summer law program at Queens’ College of Cambridge University in Cambridge, England.
