Bio
After university, David worked in the international drinks industry, including launching Fosters across Europe and selling Scotch Whisky across Latin America and Northern Europe.
Since leaving the drinks industry he has been on the Board of the Scottish landowning organisation for 12 years until 2019 and is still actively chairing the North East of Scotland’s Landowners’ Committee.
Married for 35 years to his French wife, Noelle, and with 4 grown-up children, David and his family live in the farmhouse right beside the Centre.
David owns Netherton Business Centre, which was Scotland’s first Rural Business Centre, developed from granite farm steadings back in the early 1990s.
He also owns and runs Fetternear Estate whereby he has very successful contract farming arrangements in place for the arable acreage, as well as letting seasonal grazing to neighbouring, local farmers.
The Estate has very good relations with the local community and welcomes thousands of walkers, cyclists and horse riders throughout the year.
The website: www.rural-business.com has an excellent video of the Centre which shows the extremely rural environment and beautiful surroundings.
