In 1997, David Binswanger became President and CEO of Binswanger Companies and, in addition to his prominent role in Binswanger’s Advisory group, took on the added responsibility of the day-to-day operations of the firm.
The Binswanger Companies conducts business around the world, providing real estate services, including acquisition, disposition, development, valuation, finance and facilities management to major corporations and institutions.
In his advisory capacity, Mr. Binswanger consults with multinational corporations such as, ExxonMobil, Wal-Mart and Comcast. He is also involved with real estate projects for major public institutions such as the State of New York and North Carolina State University. In this capacity, Mr. Binswanger has been involved with consulting and implementing all sorts of real estate projects around the world.
Mr. Binswanger joined the company in 1982 after receiving an MBA from the Harvard Business School. Prior to that, he worked for IBM as a systems engineer after graduating magna cum laude from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. He is a founding member of the Wharton Business School Real Estate Center; a member of Corenet; the Urban Land Institute; and the National Association of Office and Industrial Parks.
In addition, Mr. Binswanger has been involved in many civic and charitable activities including serving on the board of various institutions including the Eagles Youth Partnership, the Philadelphia Award and the World Presidents’ Organization (WPO). He was Chairman of the Thomas Jefferson University Board for almost five years and remains an active member of that Academic Medical Center’s Board today.
