David Ariola, President and Founder
David Ariola founded Chicago Realty Company in 2004. David’s recent assignments include a new, $30M mixed-use facility with public and private financing for the Chicago Christian Industrial League, managing the branch bank development program for MB Financial Bank, office tenant representation assignments and several other projects for not-for-profits such as Mercy Lakefront Housing, The Community Builders and the Institute for Woman Today.
Before founding Chicago Realty, David worked for U.S. Equities Realty, a Chicago based full-service real estate services firm. As corporate Vice President of Development and Director of Strategic Planning, David managed the New Business Development Team and strategy development and implementation for multiple business groups. David worked on a variety of real estate assignments, including tenant representation for office tenants, financing, retail leasing, commercial land sales and strategic real estate consulting for municipal, non-profit and corporate clients.
David also managed multiple development project teams, specializing in urban, mixed-use, retail, office and residential projects where he was responsible for all aspects of the projects, including sourcing deals, entitlements, permitting, public and private financing, design, construction procurement and management, commissioning and marketing and leasing.
David holds a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana; an MBA from J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University; and a certificate from the Advanced Management Development Program for Real Estate at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. David was appointed by the Mayor of the City of Chicago in 2001 to serve as a commissioner on the Community Development Commission (CDC) and appointed Secretary in 2005. The CDC reviews and recommends action to the City Council on all tax increment financing (TIF) projects. David is also a former health club owner, avid cyclist, skier and reader.
