She was raised in Genesee, Idaho and went on to receive her undergraduate degree in Communications from the University of Idaho. She has lived in Lewiston since 1989 and has been involved with various boards and organizations within the community including: St. Joseph Regional Medical Center Foundation, St. Stanislaus Tri Parish School Board, Lewis-Clark Valley Chamber of Commerce, and Vote YES LHS School Bond Campaign.
