Real estate has been a common thread throughout Dan’s life. He has purchased, renovated, managed, and sold residential, multi-family rental property, and mixed-use commercial property. Dan also has experience in timberland and agricultural land management. At one point, Dan was responsible for managing over 250,000 square feet of commercial and residential property, as well as 2,000 acres of agricultural and timber lands. Over the years, Dan has also acquired first-hand experience with construction and restoration projects. More recently, Dan has developed experience with residential and commercial energy efficiency audits and improvement projects, and net metered solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.

Dan has specific experience and knowledge in the areas of construction and restoration work, financing, legal matters, insurance, 1031 like-kind exchanges, Use Value Appraisal (Current Use), property tax abatement, engineering principles, building systems (septic, water, heating, electrical, plumbing) and environmental issues such as underground storage tanks, abatement of radon, asbestos, and lead paint.
After twenty-two years away, Dan returned to his hometown of Dummerston, Vermont in 2004 where he resides with his wife and two daughters. He is active in the local and regional community, serving as Director on the Dummerston School Board, as Trustee of the Brattleboro Retreat and as President of the Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation, the regional Development Corporation for the area. He also serves on the Windham Regional Commission Brownfield Committee and as an Advisor to the Riverledge Foundation in Grafton, Vermont. In his spare time, Dan enjoys working on his farmstead property, running, water skiing and Nordic skiing with his family.
