Curtis is currently Director of Leasing at Capital Partners, Inc. where he has overall responsibility for the marketing and leasing of over 2.5 million square feet of office, retail and industrial space in the Jacksonville and Tallahassee markets. Curtis has been in the commercial real estate industry since 1972 and has significant experience in all phases of commercial real estate, including mortgage brokerage, property management, leasing and sales throughout Florida and southeast Georgia.
Prior to joining Capital Partners, Inc., Curtis was President and owner of Beacon Realty Services, Inc., a full service real estate investment and brokerage firm based in Jacksonville. Curtis began his commercial real estate career in 1972 as a real estate lending officer for First National Bank of Atlanta. Moving to Jacksonville in 1973, he served as head of the Real Estate Lending Department of Jacksonville National Bank. From 1978 through 1983, Mr. Loftin served in various financial positions with Jacksonville based Charter Company, a NYSE listed firm with worldwide operations. From 1983 throughout 1986, Mr. Loftin headed the real estate division of a diversified private firm based in Jacksonville. In 1986, Mr. Loftin formed Beacon Realty Services, Inc., a full service real estate services firm specializing in management, leasing and brokerage of all types of commercial real estate. In December of 1998, Cushman & Wakefield of Florida purchased all active accounts of Beacon Realty employing Mr. Loftin and his entire staff of brokers and administrative personnel. In December, 2002, as part of a nationwide restructuring, Cushman & Wakefield closed its Jacksonville office and Mr. Loftin reactivated Beacon Realty Services, Inc as its sole shareholder and President.
Mr. Loftin is active in several professional and civic organizations in the Jacksonville area. He has served as Membership Chairman-Florida CCIM Chapter; President-North Florida Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management; Chairman-Commercial Real Estate Task Force of Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce; Chairman-Executive Committee of Commercial Investment Division of Northeast Florida Association of Realtors. He has received numerous professional awards, including Office Broker of the Year by The North Florida Commercial Alliance of Realtors.
