Craig Goldstein has been in the real estate and mortgage industry for 23 years. As a 14-year-old he started working spring breaks for his older brother’s mortgage company, Family First Mortgage. His visits (for 3 straight years) consisted of daily trips to the mortgage office to assist with auditing mortgage files for post-closing purposes. It was there he learned the art of packaging a sellable loan and an understanding why appraisals are a very important part of the real estate transaction. His brother gave him an education for which he will always be grateful.
In the late 90s, Craig processed sub-prime loans for Accredited Home Lenders' wholesale division. In the early 2000s, Craig was employed by Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in their underwriting operation center. After a few years in the operation center, Craig was promoted to the sales side where he worked downtown San Diego for a couple years selling Wells Fargo “A” paper mortgage product through their REMAX/Wells Fargo joint venture. Working for Accredited Home Lenders and Wells Fargo gave Craig the knowledge to help clients navigate the mortgage process of buying a home.
In 2006, Craig partnered up with his good friend Dustin Holzhausen and started a Real Estate brokerage firm called Heritage Properties. In the fall of 2007, they started working directly with Carrington Property Services, Hedge fund vested (at the time) largely in residential rental properties. Along with their team, Craig and Dustin managed 200 of Carrington’s rental properties in Southern California from 2007 to 2011, before they sold off their inventory. Carrington held over 5000 rental properties nationwide, working with over 200 brokers. In 2008 and 2010 Heritage Properties was named property manager of the year by Carrington Property Services. Carrington Properties ran all their new property management beta programs through Heritage Properties before rolling them out nationwide. They prided ourselves in client/tenant relationships.
In February 2020, Craig and his wife Rebecca made the decision to move to Sebastopol, California where they started working for their family's Real Estate business, Tombe Realty. For the next 20 years, they plan to help scale Tombe Realty's property management business and real estate service model.
