In a career spanning 40+ years in commercial real estate and construction finance Chris provided construction and acquisition financing for over $2 billion of projects in the South Jersey and Metro Philadelphia region. Property types included retail shopping centers, apartment complexes, condominium projects, multi-tenant office buildings, warehouse/distribution buildings, self-storage projects, single tenant net leased properties, manufactured housing projects, medical office buildings, hotels (including New Market Tax Credit projects), residential tract developments, and mixed-use properties. Chris has a deep knowledge of current market conditions and trends and stays on top of important issues such as cap rates, tenant credit ratings, interest rates and financing trends and opportunities. Chris graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He then attended Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ, and The National School of Real Estate and Finance at the University of Wisconsin. Mr. Unger started his career at the Continental Bank in Philadelphia and went on to hold prominent positions at several financial institutions; Department Head of the Real Estate, Construction and Finance Department at Midlantic National Bank/South in Mount Laurel, NJ (now PNC Bank), Department Head for the United Jersey Bank/South in Cherry Hill, NJ (now Bank of America), and Senior Vice President/Group Leader for Real Estate, Construction and Finance with Beneficial Bank in Philadelphia. Chris has also held positions at Susquehanna Bank (now Truist Bank), Berkshire Bank, and First Bank NJ. Most recently, Chris has worked as a commercial real estate mortgage banker for the past 5 years. Chris is a current member of the Commercial & Industrial Investment Council of Chester County, PA, a former member of The Urban Land Institute (Advisory Board for the Capital Markets Committee and Co-Chair of the South Jersey Satellite Committee), a former member of The International Council of Shopping Centers (Philadelphia Program Committee), a former member of The National Association of Industrial & Office Parks (Membership Committee), and a former member of The Philadelphia Prostate Cancer Foundation Board. Chris has been an active member of his community and has served as a baseball and basketball coach for the Mount Laurel Recreation Council. He currently resides in NJ with his wife, Jayne.
