Chris Newton is a Vice President in the Commercial Sales and Leasing division of the Jones Lange LaSalle Vancouver office, joining the firm in 2021 after 16 successful years at another national real estate brokerage firm. Chris handles real estate assignments for his clients in all areas of Metro Vancouver, but his focus and recognized market expertise is in Vancouver’s Broadway Corridor and East Vancouver Periphery Markets, including the Cambie, Main and Fraser, Commercial Districts, as well as the False Creek Flats and Mount Pleasant.
As an area expert, Chris handles all asset types, both for sales and leasing, including residential and commercial land sales, and office and creative industrial leasing transactions on both sides of the table, which has earned him an encyclopedic knowledge of these markets and a reputation for deep and real time street level market information for his clients’ benefit.
Chris has represented both vendors and purchasers in a cross section of Vancouver’s land ownership and development community, including many high-profile and/or high net worth families, numerous non-profit organizations, and recognized development and investment companies such as Wesgroup, Quadreal, Hungerford Properties, Porte Communities, and Strand Corporation.
Chris is currently a member of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver, the British Columbia Real Estate Association, and the Canadian Real Estate Association.
