Brian’s commercial real estate started in 1978 in Edmonton as assistant to the manager of the Knowlton Realty office. In 1983, Brian returned to Toronto and was one of the first salespeople hired by CBRE (then Coldwell banker Commercial). 1988 Brian achieved No. 1 ranking nationally. In 2000, Brian relocated to Avison Young where he achieved No. 1 Ontario/Eastern Canada sales ranking in 2005. Brian’s primary expertise is in the sale of retail, office and investment/development land. Significant career sales include Skyway Business Park on Dixon Road for Sun Life to Yale Properties, North York Corporate Centre on Yonge Street for Avro to Penyork, Dover Elevator corner of Richmond and John Streets (downtown Toronto) which is now the Scotiabank/Cineplex Centre, portfolio of 11 “I” Class buildings in downtown Toronto to Allied REIT, Taunton Gardens Power Centre (Whitby) to Recliff, etc. These deals range from $25M to $125M. Brian has acted for many private and institutional clients to complete many more transactions in the $5.0M-$20 range with aggregate value well in excess of $1.0B.
Brian has sold several leisure properties and hotels including golf courses such as Aurora Golf Courses (East and West) for Manulife to Clublink, Rocky Crest Resort for Bimcor to Clublink and Crosswinds G&CC in Burlington to the Simon family.
Brian likes to forge lasting relationships with clients by providing very professional and consistent service. He has written endorsements from various clients.
