Bio
Widely regarded as one of New York’s premier leasing professionals, Bradley P. Gerla is an Executive Vice President at CBRE specializing in both landlord and tenant representation across Manhattan. As a leader in the commercial real estate world for more than three decades, he is consistently sought out by businesses, landlords and civic leaders to advise them on current and future real estate requirements. Over the years, Mr. Gerla has developed a very successful niche of repositioning and leasing some of the world’s most iconic office buildings. As exclusive leasing agent, he currently controls more than 10 million sq. ft. of office space. On the tenant side, he is a leader in representing corporations with operations across all Manhattan markets, focusing on developing creative real estate strategies on behalf of a wide variety of clients. In the last two years, Mr. Gerla has completed three of New York City’s most significant real estate transactions: On behalf of his exclusive client, MarketAxess, a leader in electronic trading platforms, he negotiated a complex transaction for its move to 85,000 square feet at MFA, Related Company and Oxford Properties’ new development at 55 Hudson Yards; In 2016, in the largest deal in New York City, Mr. Gerla represented the ownership of 55 Water Street, The Retirement Systems of Alabama, in a complex transaction renewing S&P Global for 900,027 square feet; and finally, Mr. Gerla was awarded the Real Estate Board of New York’s “Deal of the Year” for representing ownership of 11 Madison Avenue in the leasing of 1.1 million sq. ft. to Credit Suisse for its U.S. headquarters, while simultaneously creating a building-within-a-building concept in the tower for Sony’s 550,000-sq.-ft. U.S. headquarters. Frequently tapped by the media for his expertise, Mr. Gerla has been featured in a number of articles by leading media outlets, including the recent “Broker Sees More Upside Downtown,” Crain’s New York Business, April 21, 2014 and “Speak Softly and Carry a Big Stick,” The Commercial Observer, May 1, 2012. During his tenure at CBRE, Mr. Gerla has been named a Top 100 Producer and has been awarded CBRE’s Colbert Coldwell Circle Award several times.
