Bobby Lewis a longtime resident of the Triangle region with 30 years experience in commercial real estate and development. Bobby founded Raleigh Commercial Realty & Development in 1988, a firm dedicated to developing both new projects and underutilized urban properties mostly in and around the Downtown area. Bobby's years of experience has given him a broad understanding of the Triangle's commercial real estate market and instilled in him a deep commitment to Raleigh's growth. In 2003, he teamed up with Don Carter to form Raleigh Development Company acquiring the Capital Bank Plaza building on Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh where RDC maintains their offices. Some of Bobby's involvement in local government and community affairs over the years include Boy Scouts of America, the Wake County Planning board, The State Club board member, Charter member of the Lonnie Poole golf course (sponsoring hole number 8), Paragon Bank advisory board member, 20 year active member of the Chamber of commerce and the Chamber Sports Council. While serving on these boards, a few of his contributions include, working with the economic development committee and recruiting major sports to the Triangle area.
Bobby received the Sir Walter Raleigh Award for his redevelopment of the 5 Points/Fairview Road area in Raleigh to up-scale shops and restaurants.
Bobby's involvement in local, state and national politics includes two U.S Senate and two Presidential campaigns, as well as several state, county and city campaigns.
