Charleston native Batson L. Hewitt has been intricately involved with the real estate business for over 38 years. A Founding Partner of Palmetto Commercial Properties, Inc., Hewitt’s distinguished career has included owning and operating several of his own commercial real estate companies, namely Keenan & Hewitt and K&H Properties with PCP partner, Jay Keenan, CCIM, and Hewitt Realty Co. and Hewitt Properties, Inc.
A past-president of the SC Chapter of the CCIM and the Commercial Investment Properties Council of Charleston, Hewitt’s professional associations include the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors, the Charleston Chamber of Commerce, and the National Association of Realtors. He was the 1998 Commercial Realtor of the Year.
Hewitt’s civic and community affiliations include past Chairman of the Board of Trident Academy, past Commadore of Carolina Yacht Club, past Chairman of the City of Charleston Tourism Commission , the City Market Task Force, Past President of the Downtown Market Area Association, current Board Member and Secretary of the Lowcountry Open Land Trust, past Board of Directors of Agape Ministries of Charleston , past Chairman of ELPIS, Inc., and Trinity Episcopal Church. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina . He is married with two children.
