Barbie began her career in real estate in 1989 when she took a job as a leasing agent in Galveston to work her way through college. Due to her exceptional ability to "sell a tent on the beach," as one of her clients put it, she was quickly promoted. By the age of 21, Barbie was already managing a small community near Almeada Mall, and it was at this point that she realized she had found her true calling. She thoroughly enjoyed assisting people in finding their perfect "home."
In 1997, Barbie obtained her real estate license and embarked on a career selling homes with Etheredge Real Estate in Texas City. She couldn't have asked for a better mentor than Bill Etheredge, her broker. Bill took Barbie under his wing, and before long, she was winning office competitions for the highest number of transactions. It was through Bill's guidance that Barbie developed a deep passion for commercial real estate.
However, during a divorce, Barbie found herself compelled to return to the property management side of real estate in order to maintain insurance coverage for herself and her daughter. She continued in this role until her retirement in 2013. After some time spent traveling, Barbie has now returned to real estate sales and is thoroughly enjoying her work once again.
