Bio
Arturo Garcia has over 30 years of experience in large-scale commercial, industrial, infrastructure, sports and mixed-use projects. A graduate of the Rice University School of Architecture, he has served as owner's representative and development advisor providing project management, infrastructure planning and architectural design services for Puerto Rico, US and international clients. Representative clients include: Taubman Centers, Constructora Sambil (Caracas), Empresas Fonalledas, Inc, (Plaza Las Americas Shopping Center, Tres Monjitas Dairy and other subsidiaries), Macy's, Kmart, McDonalds, Palmas del Mar Properties Inc., Suiza Dairy Milk Processing Plant. Among Arturo's major achievements was to successfully lead a team of over a dozen professionals in successfully completing the $250 million, 1.8 million square foot expansion and remodeling of Plaza Las Americas Shopping Center. He also assembled and led a team of consultants that secured all planning approvals and entitlements for a $418 million mixed-use project for Constructora Sambil in Puerto Rico (now in earthwork phase). Mr. Garcia is an active Member of the American Institute of Architects, the Puerto Rico College of Architects and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). He has served the ICSC with distinction since 2012 in various capacities, including: member of its international faculty, conference speaker, conference chair and participation in various of its boards and key advisory committees for professional education and advancement and others. Arturo's unique range of experience, from an owner's perspective, makes him a strong candidate for a leadership position in a large architectural firm, a developer/owner or development advisory consulting firm.
