Ara H. Rostamian- Vice President, Marcus & Millichap, Downtown Los Angeles - is known in the industry as expertly focused on single tenant net leased product as well as ground up development and re-development of retail throughout Southern California and the Western States. In 2019 Ara joined Marcus & Millichap with his partner Orbell Ovaness to start their retail focused team, advising clients in the strategic acquisition, disposition and re-positioning of retail real estate properties throughout Los Angeles, Southern California, and Major MSA’s throughout the U.S. Ara has more than 16 years of experience in retail real estate. Most recently, he worked with SRS Real Estate Partners as Vice President of the National Net Lease Group transacting over $64 million in retail deals. Prior to SRS Ara worked with Strategic Development Advisors where he was directly involved in over $115 million worth of retail investment transactions and over $30 million in retail development sites which he sourced for developer clients equating to over $60 million in retail development project values. With an extensive background in valuation and development, he is particularly adept at sourcing retail opportunities with value-add potential for redevelopment or re-positioning. He has an intimate knowledge of the market, and his recognition in the local industry as an investment expert has led to speaking engagements on various panels regarding retail investment and development trends. Ara has a Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) degree from the University of Southern California (USC) and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in real estate from California State University Northridge (CSUN). He is closely involved at USC’s alumni real estate network sitting on the board of the AREN. He is member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Urban Land Institute (ULI), USC Price Real Estate Affiliates and USC Alumni Real Estate Network.
